Over 30 years ago, LCM Pathologists, P.C. (LCM) began in a small room of a doctor's office with a vision of providing full-service anatomic and clinical pathology to the Upper Midwest. We have fulfilled that vision over the years with a steadfast commitment to service, quality, reliability, and education. This commitment to quality service means that the medical needs of the patients and referring physicians always come first.

Professionally, all pathologists in the group are board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. The services provided by the group also include the full spectrum of subspecialty expertise with pathologists board certified in: cytopathology, immunohematology, hematopathology, forensic pathology; and special expertise in electron microscopy, renal and muscle biopsy pathology, fine needle aspiration pathology and flow cytometry. Through relationships and affiliations with clinic, hospital and independent clinical laboratories, the pathologists have many years of clinical laboratory interpretation experience as well.

As part of the LCM commitment to medical excellence, we have always taken an active role in medical education by serving as full-time faculty for the Department of Laboratory Medicine at the University of South Dakota School of Medicine, teaching pathology to students in Medicine, Medical Technology, and Dental Hygiene. The fully accredited Pathology Residency program in Sioux Falls has produced excellent pathologists for the Midwest and across the United States. But perhaps our biggest educational role is keeping our clients up to date on all applications of laboratory medicine to impact the quality of patient health care.

LCM owns and operates Cytology departments in Mankato, MN and Sioux Falls, SD. These departments are staffed by Board certified Cytotechnologists and operate under the medical direction of member pathologists.
